Our members are French, English, Italian or Spain researchers, archaeologists or ethnologists, entrepreneurs or consultants, institutional representatives, mountain guides, all concerned by shepherds’ cultures, agriculture from the Mediterranean sea or the Middle East region.

The value of ACoMoNT
 

The values of ​​ACoMoNT are those of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights . The association was not intended to support a political party or a religious movement. It adheres to the values ​​of democracy and secularism, and is concerned with the current environmental, economic and social issues at the height of its resources.
We want to promote all forms of cultural events in relation to these peoples, such as exhibitions, films and documentaries, conferences, concerts, lectures, artisan sales, publishing books and papers that contribute to cultural sharing.
 
We want to initiate study visits and exchange through an ethical tourism and trekking trails, all within the framework of sustainable development and  a solidarity economy.
 
Finally, we wish to facilitate research and academic work related knowledge and the dynamic development of the heritage of these peoples, and to assist in publishing this work.
The Association
 
ACoMoNT (Association connected Mountains, Nomadism and Transhumance) is a French non-profit making organization, whose aim is to promote with all legality the mountains-peoples cultures, shepherds’ practices (nomadic and moving livestock to different pastures according to the season) notably those from Turkey, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Iraq and Kurdistan Iraq, and Iran.
To do this, we want to contribute with our means, to a better knowledge of these peoples and their traditions in cultural activities. We want to create, edit, distribute documents in French, or in the language of the country of origin of the people involved in all media (print, audio, video, digital file) in relation to the aims of the association.
